"I'm proud of you George"

George Wilks-Wiffen

Friend

It was 2007 and I drove Harry and I to Camberwell in London to visit Emily at university. We had a great day and when it came time to drive home in my 1989 automatic Nissan Micra. My phone and sat nav had died. I had to try and brave navigating London. But not to worry, I thought. Harry will help me. I knew that if I could find my way to Tower Bridge then I knew the way from there. As we travelled over a bridge, I said 'Harry, which way is Tower Bridge?', to which his drunken reply was, 'I'm proud of you George', I said thanks but I just need to know which way Tower Bridge is, so I went over the bridge again. All I got from him again was, "I'm proud of you George". This happened about 4/5 times!

We eventually got out of London and back home. The 'I'm proud of you George' phrase came from Harry every time I saw him 🤣
